Job Title: Mainframe / Cobol / Java Developer

Location: Pittsburgh, PA, Jersey City, or New York City (Hybrid 4 days/week)

Duration: Multiple years to indefinite

Work Authorization: GC EAD, GC, H4 Ead, USC. (Existing H1’s willing to transfer will be considered)

This is a W2 (FTH) opportunity, The person will have to work on my clients W2.

What You’ll Do

Modernize legacy mainframe systems (COBOL, JCL, VSAM, DB2) and enable integration with distributed platforms (Oracle, APIs).
Lead efforts to automate high-risk, manual business workflows (like client account(s) onboarding/offboarding, account merges).
Collaborate with India-based teams and navigate challenging stakeholders with clarity and assertiveness.
Take full ownership of deliverables: identify gaps, raise flags early, and proactively push solutions through.
Immerse yourself in the business side of cash sweeps; your success depends on learning it inside out.

Must-Have Skills

Technical

Mainframe Core: COBOL, JCL, VSAM, DB2, z/OS
Distributed Exposure: Oracle DB, SQL, data sync/migration strategies
Object Oriented Languages: Java preferred C# is fine too
Experience with API development
Tools & Utilities: CA-7, Control-M, REXX, FILEAID, AbendAid, SPUFI, QMF, Changeman /Endeavor
Automation Focus
Process Insight
Knowledge of ad hoc reporting, SQL performance tuning, and batch job optimization
